Daniel Montanez Obituary

Daniel Montañez went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Born in Jersey City, NJ on October 24, 1970, Danny was one of five children born to the late Emilio Montañez and Mylta Montañez (Vega). Danny attended Hoboken High School and created his life in Hoboken, where he resided for many years. As a lover of the culinary arts, he found his greatest joy in cooking and catering, and built an extensive resume of culinary experience throughout his career. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, the light of his life.

Danny is survived by his mother, Mylta, his brothers, Samuel Melendez, Misael (Mich) Montañez, Nathanael (Nat) Montañez, sisters Sandra Otero, Jeannette Rodriguez, and half sisters Emily James, Maribel Echevarria, and Maleni Figueroa, longtime friend and companion Nancy Rivera, daughter Stephanie Montañez (Christian), and grandchildren Santiago, Valentina, and Savannah Loayza, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Danny will be remembered for his big smile and even bigger personality. His charismatic nature will be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a public viewing on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4-8pm at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, North Bergen, NJ.
