Julia Rodriguez, 89, of North Bergen, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024. Born on August 16, 1935, in Higüey, Dominican Republic, Julia immigrated to the United States and made Hudson County her home for over 50 years. A strong and loving mother, she emphasized the importance of education to her children, bringing them to the U.S. to create better opportunities.

Julia worked in the garment district for over 30 years, and after retirement, she continued to enjoy life to the fullest. She loved traveling, playing bingo, and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Known for her sharp wit, honest advice, and infectious laughter, Julia was always the life of the party.

Preceded in death by her daughters, Marisela Yllanes and Mayra Gonzalez, Julia is survived by her children Yolanda Medina, Aida Gonzalez, Griselda Gonzalez, and Mario Julio Gonzalez, as well as 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 3 PM to 7 PM at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, 4543 Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ. Julia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mass will be at St. Mary’s Church

6502 Jackson St. West New York, NJ at 9am on Monday, September 9th, followed by the burial at Flower Hill Cemetery 5433 JFK Blvd North Bergen, NJ.
