Carlos Vera was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on October 9, 1948. At the age of 14, he met his wife Pilar. He attended Colonia China for primary school and later became a singer at the age of 17, known as Carlos Alberto. In September of 1974, Mr. Vera immigrated to the United States with the help of legendary Mexican singer José José. He then resided in East Tremont, Bronx, New York.

He was a well respected soul and a very social person. His hobbies were listening to 80s music and watching Kung Fu and Old Western shows. He loved the Beatles and Rock n Roll, going out to the clubs, driving down to the beach, being under the sun and enjoying life. His lifelong dream was to become marine and live on the countryside. He was a great husband, father, and an even more outstanding grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pilar, his daughter, Fabianne, his grandchildren: Jalize, Jahsier, Azius, Azilah and Ziella along with his son-in-law Fernando Moore.

He will be missed dearly and we will cherish the memories we've created with him forever.

Visitation will be offered on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral mass at St. Augustine Church, Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ
