We are all devastated to learn of the untimely passing of our Cousin and friend, Steven Pambello. He gave us no indication there was a problem despite being in contact with him. To learn of his passing in such a shocking way has us reeling with pain. Only Steven knows why he chose to shield us from his struggle but, I’m sure, he felt it was the right thing to do. I will discuss this with Steven when my time comes.
Steven is actually, also survived by: Peter & Lorraine Pambello, Anne & Fred Michaels, Patricia Mazzeo, Mollie Freidlander, Michele & Bill Gambro, Louis Pambello, Barbara Pambello & Joseph Tamburro ( 1st cousins) as well as many 2nd and 3rd cousins who mourn his passing.
Steven, my brother, Joe T., and I grew up together on the “streets” of West New York . Tommy, his Dad, and his sister, Lucille, my Mom, bowled together in a league. We met up every Friday at Uncle Tommy’s house and spent the evening together doing what kids did then , going to our favorite comic book store, playing board games, watching TV, and pretending we were super heroes , fighting crime. Little did we know, that Steven would be a “real” super hero doing the work he loved.
At our yearly Pambello Family Christmas Dinner (going on over 50 years) he regaled us with stories of his exploits in the City. We were and are so proud of him.
He was loved by all of us & will be sorely missed

I am so heartbroken to learn the passing of my dear cousin Steven. I texted him for Christmas and I was wondering why he didn’t respond. We always went to the Pambello cousins party together every year. He was so loved. I always had so much fun with my dear cousin. He always wanted to pick me up in Hoboken so we could catch up in his Hummer. I am heartbroken. If any family needs to reach out to me my cell phone number is 201-417-4772. May he rest in peace. I have had the distinctive honor to have known Steve for over 40 years. He was a great mentor and trainer. Additionally, Steven always made himself available to his blue brothers and sisters. If you dialed his number, he answered, No, wasn’t in his vocabulary when it came to friends and adoptive family. Steven is also survived by his adopted son Patrick Sanchez, whom he bragged incessantly about, every time we talked the last few years. The world is a darker place without “the wiz”, may the fire of justice continue to flow from his hand on the streets of heaven, with Bob Cirri, and Bruce Reynolds. You will
Never be forgotten my brother!

Very well said Ed. Worked with Steve back in 83' at the ole North Terminal at EWR. Always made himself available to his PA brothers and sisters. What a great mentor. "The Wiz" was awesome and always up on the latest tech. May our brother rest easy.
