Obituary of Aida Hernandez

Aida Hernandez of West New York, New Jersey, originally from Havana, Cuba passed away on February 22, 2020. She was loved and adored by her husband of 65 years, Digno Hernandez, with whom she was reunited on May 19, 2021. They were survived by their 6 children and 14 grandchildren who admire their strength, sacrifices, boundless love, and values they instilled in them. Visitation took place at the funeral home Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM. A Roman Catholic Funeral Mass was offered Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 11:15 AM at Saint Joseph of the Palisades Church in West New York, New Jersey. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, New Jersey. Aida was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who gave her whole heart to those who entered her life. She was also a very devout Catholic and always espoused peace—and her favorite prayer captured her wisdom and essence: La Oración de San Francisco de Asís Señor, hazme un Instrumento de Tu paz. Amen.
