Obituary of Luz E Velazquez Garcia

LOVING MEMORIES – (Your Gentle Face) Your gentle face and patient smile, with brokenness we recall, You had a kindly word for each and died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, that loved us well & true, Bitter was the trial to part, from one so good as you. You are not forgotten – our angel, nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last, we will remember thee. We miss you so much, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more. Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your empty place. Luz E. Velazquez, 73 years old, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021. She was such a beautiful and selfless person...always putting other people's needs before hers. Her smiles lit up the room. She was a strong, loving, kind, and spiritual woman who inspired and touched the lives of many people. Luz was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, yet lived most of her earlier years in New York. She then moved to New Jersey over 45 years ago. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Pediatric Department and as a Sunday School teacher at her church. She never stopped caring for children though. After retirement, she volunteered her time taking care of children in a daycare until she got grandchildren of her own. Well... you can only imagine how much endearing love she gave to each and every one. She has 1 daughter (Rachel), 2 sons (Daniel & Joey), her husband (Jose), 8 beautiful grandchildren (Julio, Christopher, Christian, Jacob, Chloe, Gigi, Carson, and Isla), 2 sisters (Carmen and Maria), 2 nieces (Melinda and Alexis), 1 nephew (Carlos) and the list goes on. We all miss her dearly. The Broken Chain We little knew that evening. God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Services will be held at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, 4543 Kennedy Blvd., North Bergen, NJ 07047 Due to the pandemic, there is only one viewing on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 4 PM to 7 PM. The burial will be Thursday morning in Arlington. Many of you have already expressed your condolences via social media and we appreciate each and every one. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jorge Rivera Funeral Home can be made in Luz E. Velazquez’ name. Thank you all for your support. Words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you and please.... stay safe!
