Obituary of Gloria Petingi

Gloria Petingi, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter has sadly passed away on Monday, March 22 nd , 2021, at Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey at age 59. She was born on June 4 th , 1961 in Bogotá, Colombia to Maria Teresa Mora Moreno and Juan De Jesus Ramirez Medina. She is survived by her loving mother, Maria Teresa Mora Moreno, her devoted husband, Roberto Petingi; her beloved children, Jimmy Ramirez, Yenny Gonzalez, Jefferson Torres, Stephanie Petingi, and Steven Petingi; and her grandchildren, Jessica Ramirez, Michelle Ramirez, Samantha Ramirez, Adrian Gonzalez, Sebastian Torres, Christian Torres, and Katarina Torres whom she adored greatly. Gloria worked her way to becoming a successful real estate agent and helping people find their dream homes. She was the epitome of hard work and strength. Out of love for her children, she left her native country of Colombia to provide her family a better life and future. She traveled to the United States and worked hard to be able to reunite her family as a whole as well as to provide them a better life and future so they can become successful adults. Along the way to her journey of success, she touched hundreds of people with her kind, loving, and outgoing personality and open heart. She always made sure to push others to achieve their dreams and aspirations, especially her children and grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed singing and dancing to vallenato, salsa, and cumbia as well as traveling to different countries and exploring different cultures. She was a creative person who enjoyed planning weddings and birthday parties for others. Gloria believed in helping others and due to being an immigrant herself, she became an advocate for immigrants by translating for parents of students who did not speak English at Parent-Teacher meeting at the Hillsdale Board of Education. Her selfless spirit and big heart will carry on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her and she will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She may be gone but will never be forgotten. A funeral service is scheduled from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 25 th at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, located at 4543 Kennedy Blvd North Bergen, New Jersey 07047. Flowers and condolences may be offered at this location.
