Our heart felt condolences to Elizabeth and Chris. Gordon was not just a dear family friend, he was family. He always had kind words and a gentle smile. He will be dearly missed because he brought so much happiness with his stories he shared with our family. I was always in awe of how well his memory served him. He was so detailed in his stories and aways captured our attention whenever he shared a special memory of his with us. We are in shock that he is no longer with us but he is with Lucy and Gordon jr. now looking down on us. He will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you Gordon may your soul rest in peace.

He has now joined Ms. Lucy and Gordy and they will be with you always. GOD Bless. Silvia

To my dear and best friend Gordon,
We have shared so many precious moments over the last 26 years, from the hunts on Eddie's farm, to the trips to Newfoundland, New Mexico, New Brunswick, Maine, Long Island, Upstate New York, not to mention the long car rides to whereby we had so many intimate and personal talks about so many different topics in this life. I'll never forget how excited you'd get when I'd call you up at ten o'clock at night and tell you I killed a deer and you'd say, excitedly, 'bring it over", and we'd start skinning it together in your garage. You were a very best friend to my family and me, and known and loved by so many of my friends and workers whom came to know you through me. You built a great life for you and your family, and so many times we talked about how you worked 18 hour day for years in order to save for your family's future. You were there when I met my wife, (you told me to marry her) and we shared our lives through love and the ups and downs that come along with it. From a simple cup of coffee in your basement or in my office, just being together for you and I was enough. We shared our lives, and had a genuine love for one another. You are my best friend, my brother, my father, and my family.
We had a special connection, and I believe it was grounded in one simple word, "love". The Bible teaches us through Christ to obey two commandments, to love thy neighbor and to love God. For this we have a promise of a resurrection to a new life, whereby there will be no more pain, suffering and struggling. So although it will be good bye for NOW, we have the hope and promise of our Dear Lord and Savior that one day we will be united again in much better times, in a more perfect world, free of aging process and all the trials that came with it. I look forward to seeing you again in the paradise.
I will sorely miss you Gordon, words alone are inadequet to describe what a loss to the world your passing is. There will be a void that will never get filled, and it will take a long time to get used not being able to dial the phone and get you on the other end. To Elisabeth and Christopher I say this," your father and grandfather was a special man, a loving man, one who touched so many lives, in so many positive ways, and this is how we should remember him". May God in His infinite wisdom grant you strength, hold spirit, to endure this grave loss, that you may be consoled with the promise (and God NEVER lies), that you will be re-united with Gordon at the time of the resurrection. May Gordon's memory be eternal and may he rest in peace.
With love and sadness,
William Dean Callas and Lisa Callas and Family
Better known to Gordon as "Bill"

My deepest condolences to Elizabeth and Chris,
I have soo many fond memories of your dad throughout my life: from Lewin Farms Strawberry and Peach picking and Wading River picnics racing up and down the sand hill, from countless Christmases spent together singing at the top of our lungs,
from horseback riding in NJ and later in life at Pat’s wedding when I broke my collarbone, staying at their home when training in Kinnelon and the visits afterwards with all the honey. This was a sudden departure that I was not prepared for and will leave a scar.
Enclosed is a pic from 1993 with us at Yolanda and Jaime’s old home when they first moved in to Lake Grove.
All my Love.

I knocked on Gordon’s door one day and asked to see his bees. We became fast friends who shared a love of gardening. It was always a pleasure to visit him for a chat and bring some of my homemade tomato soup and come home with delicious honey. He was a true gentleman who lived a remarkable life and I will miss him very much.

I have so many fond memories of your dad's visits to Miami. He was always so joyful and kind. He and your mom always made me and my son feel welcomed and like we too were his family. Nick and I looked forward to their visits. Loved the dear meat and my visit to his home in Jersey. A very special place. I think of him and
Lucy all the time. Two very loving , charismatic and special people. Always in our hearts. Rest in peace dear Gordon. I know you are dancing with the Lord. Heaven is in celebration of your arrival. Love to Lucy and Gordy.Until we all meet again.
