Obituary of Elaine D Christian

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Elaine (Ano) Christian, our loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on December 23, 2019. Elaine, age 52, left us while vacationing in Guyana, South America. Elaine was born on August 1, 1967 in Whim Village, Corentyne, Berbice, Guyana. It is when she migrated to America, she met the love of her life, Subodh (David) and became the beloved mother to Andrew and Jonathan. While Elaine was a dedicated wife and mother, she especially loved her new role as Grandma to Jesiah, who always put a smile on her face. Elaine’s life was a living example of her favorite bible verse, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Elaine believed in Jesus with all her heart, mind and spirit. She shared God’s word every chance she had and never shied away from an opportunity to communicate God’s love for everyone. Elaine has been a member of the congregation of Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, for over 25 years. Elaine’s love for people directed her to the Service Industry. She had primarily worked in retail businesses. After leaving Best Buy as a Manager, she entered the Medical Field where she worked in a challenging and rewarding career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Elaine treasured her family and friends. She had a vivacious personality, made friends everywhere she went, always made people around her laugh, and loved to help others. It is with her helping heart, she took part in multiple missionary trips to several countries and worked with countless charities in India, Guyana and America. In fact, she went to feed the poor in Guyana when she died. Elaine is predeceased by her parents, Bansraj (Joe Boy) and Babarene (Data) and her parents-in-law Bakul and Maya. Elaine is survived by her sisters: Yvonne (Kenrick), Maylene (Deonarine), Betlin (John), Vivian (Sandy) and Amanda (Timothy); her brothers, Richard (Indira), Rupert (Omawattie), and Rakesh (Babita); her brother-in-law, Sujit (Kelly); sister-in-law, Nita; 26 nieces and nephews; 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews, all of whom she loved and touched deeply. Elaine will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Viewing and wake will take place at Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, located at 5029 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Bergen, NJ 07047 on January 3, 2020 beginning at 6 PM. Funeral services will take place at Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, on January 4, 2020 at 9 AM followed by a procession to the Garden State Crematory located at 4101 Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen. A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God, following the funeral services.
