Obituary of Alicia Arroyo

Alicia Arroyo, 68, of North Bergen, NJ passed away December 9, 2019.  She was born February 17, 1951 in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  She graduated from Colegio Velasco Ybarra, Canton El Empalme in Ecuador with a degree in Education Sciences.  She taught grammar school for many years.  She took interest in sewing & business and became a seamstress part time. In 1987, she came to the United States. When she first arrived in the US she worked as a seamstress in the city of Hoboken. In 1994, she achieved her dream of becoming a small business and property owner. She retired in 2013.

As a lover of gardening, she spent many hours tending to her fruits, vegetables, and plants in her backyard. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Whenever possible she would host gatherings at her house and enjoy the company of her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Pabla, 5 children, Carlos, Rosa, Jessica, Juan and Jimmy.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters. Alicia was predeceased by her loving husband in 2016.

Visitation will be offered on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
