Tomasa Cintron Obituary

Tomasa Cintron, affectionately known as “Tita” to those who knew her, passed away on April 20, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and deep cultural pride. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Tomasa carried the spirit of her island with her when she later made her home in Union City, New Jersey, where she lived for 45 years.


 


A devoted mother, she is survived by her children, Alex Torres and Edgardo Cintron and her cherished grandson, Alex Torres, Jr. along with her sister Reina Cintron and her niece Miroselma Conde.


 


Tomasa’s family was the center of her world, and she took great joy in nurturing and supporting them.


 


Tita was widely known in her community not only for her kindness and vibrant personality but also for her cooking. Her Puerto Rican pasteles and alcapurrias were beloved by all who had the pleasure of tasting them, celebrating her rich heritage.


 


She will be remembered for her love, her resilience, and the traditions she proudly shared. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her.


 


Visitation will be offered on Thursday, April 23, 206 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be private.
