Gabriel Rohaidy, born on November 19, 1959, was a resident of Guttenberg and West New York, New Jersey. He came to the United States from Placetas, Cuba in 1968 at the age of nine. Gabriel attended Harry L. Bain School and graduated from Memorial High School in West New York in 1978.

Gabriel lived life fully and joyfully. He savored every meal, took time to appreciate every view, and never hesitated to take a chance or embrace a new adventure. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially camping and swimming, animals, and the theater (especially Aladdin on Broadway!). More than anything, Gabriel cherished connection. He had a generous heart and was always looking out for others, making sure no one felt alone.

Throughout his life, Gabriel was dedicated to both his work and his community. He served as a Boy Scout leader and worked for Action Agency, Verizon and later sold UnitedHealthcare insurance.

He is survived by his beloved husband, Samuel, whom he lovingly called “my love”; his mother, Magali Rohaidy; his siblings, Lourdes, Maria and her husband Jose Carballo, and Jose Rohaidy and his wife Nilsa; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and countless dear friends who were such an important part of his life.

Gabriel was predeceased by his father, Joseph Rohaidy, affectionately known as “La Papa,” whom he deeply adored.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be private.
