Roberto Rivera Sr.,a loving father, grandfather, and cherished family man, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025 at the age of 62, surrounded by love.

Born on February 21,1963 in Brooklyn, NYC, Roberto Rivera lived a life defined by strength, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family. He endured life’s challenges with remarkable courage, never complaining, always maintaining his sense of humor and dignity. His quiet resilience and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all else, Roberto Rivera was a devoted father. He gave his children the best years of his life and raised them with love, guidance, and integrity. His lessons were not only spoken but lived—through his actions, his sacrifices, and his example. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled and the love he gave so freely.

He is survived by his spouse Venessa Davis-Rivera ; his loving children: Roberto Rivera Jr. and his spouse Aurea Ivelis Colon-Rivera; Vanetta Tamar Rivera and her spouse Terique Randolph Miller Sr.; Jessica Rivera; and Kurtis Michael Rivera and his fiancé Beverly Ann Taveras. Grandchildren: Terique Randolph Miller Jr., Jayel Lamar Johnson , Zyair Tyree Miller, Skyla Vanique Miller, Justice Kai Pittman,August Isabel Rivera, Annmarie Isabella Rivera, Xavier Lee Rivera,Maddox Rey Rivera and Audrey Rue Rivera. He was preceded in death by his parents Ines Miranda-Rivera, Domingo Rivera and his eldest brother Innocencio Rivera. He is survived by his eldest sister Petra Rivera, Maria Del Rosario Rivera and his youngest brother Rafael Rivera. He’s also survived by a host of nieces and nephews: Zudaydah Rivera, Khalifah Luciano, Armed Rivera, Adam Rivera, Alejandro Rivera ,Damaris Rivera and Fernando Rivera . 

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace. As he was lovingly told in his final days, when our number is called, we will pick up right where we left off.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 29, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, 4543 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047.
