Angel L. Cartagena, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on December 5th, 2025, in North Bergen, New Jersey, at the age of 69.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; his children, Brenda, Juan and his wife Ariana, Marcos, and Marisol; his grandchildren Carlos, Anibal, Justin, and Lily; his great-grandchildren Keylanie, Ayden, Keyden, and Hanzel; and his siblings Carmen Vicente; Elba Colón and her husband Frank; Mildred Guesman; and George Cartagena and his wife Maribel, along with many nieces and nephews. Angel was deeply loved by all and found great joy in his family.
Born on July 29th, 1956 and raised in Jersey City, Angel graduated from St. Peter’s Prep before serving honorably in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Puerto Rico, where he met his beautiful wife, Maria. Together, they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage.
After his military service, Angel devoted over 40 years to the United States Postal Service, serving in various roles and concluding his career with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. While working, he earned his master’s degree from New York University, reflecting his determination and commitment to growth.
A devoted Christian, Angel was a faithful member of Iglesia Bautista Reformada de North Bergen for more than 40 years. He loved singing, classical music, and spending time with his family. A kind and good man, he will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Vistiation will be offered on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
