Alicia Cagiao (née Lozano), age 84, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in North Bergen, New Jersey. Born on February 24, 1941, in Tolima, Colombia, Alicia grew up in Bogota Colombia before moving to the New York area in 1962. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family and deep-rooted connections to her heritage.
Alicia was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank and her brother Carlos.
She is survived by her sons Frank Cagiao and his wife Becky, and Alexander Cagiao and his wife Jennifer. Alicia also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Frank and his wife Maria, Raina and her partner Michael, Amanda, Zachary, Matthew, Melissa, her brother Alvaro Lozano and his wife Gloria survive her as well, along with their daughters Adriana and Rachel. Alicia’s sister Leonore Cortez also mourns her passing. In addition to her immediate family, Alicia is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews residing in Colombia.
Alicia’s legacy is one of love and resilience—a life that bridged continents and generations. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
Respects may be paid to the family on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home between the hours of 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
On Thursday August 21st, Alicia will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Raymond Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, NY, following a short blessing service at the funeral home beginning at 9:30am.
