Sarah Maria Guzman, age 99, of Union City, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 18, 1926, in Santa Clara, Cuba, she lived a life full of grace, resilience, and unconditional love.

Sarah was the cherished wife of the late Santos Guzman and the beloved mother of Enrique Guzman, Rene Guzman, and Evelyn Guzman. She was a devoted grandmother to Jason, Rick, Tara, Gennessy, Pinky, and Lily; a proud great-grandmother to Ricky, Evan, Easton, Nicole, Ricky, and Dominic; and a joyful great-great-grandmother to one precious great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Henry and Lorna.

Sarah was more than a matriarch, she was the heart of her family. A gifted homemaker, she found joy in sewing, knitting, baking, cooking, singing, and making clothes by hand. Her home was filled with the delicious aromas of her legendary Cuban dishes and her homemade cakes with rich, handmade frosting. In her later years, she discovered a new creative outlet: coloring, which brought her peace and happiness.

Known for her vibrant personality and radiant spirit, Sarah had a sense of humor that could lift anyone’s spirits and a smile that lit up every room she entered. Her perfume, her voice, and her love are lasting memories that her family and friends will forever carry with them.

Anyone who knew Sarah knew what it meant to be loved unconditionally. She gave without hesitation, stood strong in every season, and was always there when someone needed her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, music, and faith.
