Consuelo Fernández, 101, of West New York, NJ, passed away on June 27, 2025.  Born on December 16, 1923, in Güines, Cuba. Consuelo Fernández was the daughter of the late Jesus Lapido and Amparo Peña. She survived by her daughter Dulce Garcia, granddaughters Erika Ponce and Rita Ponce, and great-grandchildren Octavia Dávila and Alexander Dávila. Consuelo worked as a seamstress at Cover Knit in NYC, and enjoyed her retirement years along side her family.

A viewing service will be held at Jorge Rivera Funeral Home, 4543 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047 on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4pm – 8pm.  

Burial will be held at Flower Hill Mausoleum (True Companion Phase IV) 5433 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ 07047 on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.  10:30 AM
