Maria Salas (1934 - 2025)

Maria Salas, 90, of North Bergen, NJ, passed away on February 4, 2025, leaving a legacy of kindness, patience, grace and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Maria was born in Sogamoso, Colombia in 1934. She shared 66 years of marriage with the love of her life, Froilan. Maria took special joy in raising her children and grandchildren. She had a talent for creating delicious family meals and an extraordinary green thumb in the garden so much so that she could make any plant grow. She was a devoted wife and mother, her pride and joy they felt in the love and support she provided. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her dearly.

Her survivors include: her husband, Froilan; four daughters, Elizabeth (Richard dec’d), Elena (Douglas), Adriana (Eric) and Jacqueline (William); five grandchildren Caroline, Patrick, Gillian, Gwendalyn and Eliza, as well as many nieces and nephews, who will never forget the love “Gammy” brought to their lives. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Maria del Carmen and Marcos, her sister Margarita, and brothers Jorge, Eduardo and Reynaldo.

Family will receive relatives and friends for visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at: Jorge Rivera Funeral Home 4543 Kennedy Blvd. North Bergen, NJ 07047

Mass will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:30 PM at: Our Lady of Grace Church 400 Kamena Street Fairview, NJ 07022
